כנס בינלאומי של הטכניון: "באוהאוס על הכרמל"

סימפוזיון בינלאומי של המרכז לחקר המורשת הבנויה ע״ש אבי ושרה ארנסון בפקולטה לארכיטקטורה ובינוי ערים בטכניון בשיתוף עם עיריית חיפה שיתקיים בהיכל העירייה. הכנס ייערך באנגלית.
בסימפוזיון יציגו דוברים מגרמניה, אוסטריה וישראל את מחקריהם על המודרניזם הגרמני והאוסטרי, וידונו במקומה של חיפה כצומת השפעות קולוניאליות, מרכז אירופאיות ומזרח תיכוניות על אדריכלים ומתכננים שפעלו בפלשתינה המנדטורית בכלל ובחיפה בפרט. אנו מבקשים להקדיש את האירוע החיפאי של באוהאוס 100 להרחבת היריעה המחקרית ולאתגור ההגמוניה ההיסטוריוגרפית של הבאוהאוס בישראל.
הסימפוזיון יתקיים בפתחו של סוף שבוע שיוקדש כולו לאירועים בסימן מאה שנים לבאוהאוס בחיפה: אירועי ״באוהאוס חברתי״ שיכללו תערוכות אמנות ואדריכלות, אמנות מיצב ומיצג והופעות ברחבי שכונת הדר הכרמל המודרניסטית, בנוסף יתקיימו אירועי ״בתים מבפנים״ בהדר, בקרית הטכניון וברחבי חיפה.

Modern Architectures and the Challenge of Co-Existence in Haifa
* Homage to the seminal book Bauhaus on the Carmel and the Crossroads of Empire by Gilbert Herbert and Silvina Sosnovsky.
The annual international symposium of the Avie and Sarah Arenson Built Heritage Research Center at the Technion will take place at Haifa City Hall, 14 Hasan Shuqri St., on Thursday 28.11.19, 9:00-17:30.
The symposium will bring together scholars from Austria, Germany, and Israel who will present their researches on the German and Austrian modernisms, and will discuss the location of Haifa at the crossroad of colonial, Central European and Middle Eastern influences on architects and planners working in Mandate Palestine in general and Haifa in particular. We wish to dedicate Haifa’s participation in the Bauhaus centennial to questioning the historiographic hegemony of the Bauhaus in Israel and Haifa, and to shed light on a much larger modernist field.
The symposium will open the three-day event of “Social Bauhaus: An Urban Experience marking the Bauhaus centennial” and the “Open Houses” events across Haifa. The art exhibitions, tours, and performances celebrate and intervene in the modernist neighborhood of Hadar HaCarmel.
The symposium is a collaboration with the Haifa Municipality and with the support of Anhalt university of applied sciences, the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, and the Austrian Embassy
